Assigned Female at Birth

devised, created and written by Lyralen Kaye

is a web series based on 50+ interviews with trans & non-binary peeps as well as women of all identities, races, abilities and ages. The series combines the stories of an agender trans man who throws zir family into chaos when zi decides to wear a dress to zir wedding, a black lesbian struggling with her mother’s death and her trans husband’s new penis, and a non-binary disabled therapist’s struggle to be intimate with their partner. Documentary style monologues from interviews weave in and out of these stories, showing how the themes of loss and invisibility affect all our lives.

We are currently fund-raising as we move into filming our 4th season! AFAB is completely funded through individual donations and we have completed Season 1, Season 2 and Season 3 because of YOU! So grateful. Please continue to support the voices of BIPOC, trans, non-binary people and women as we work for justice through representation in the arts.

Some interviews with our lead actors!
